Trout fishing on Caithness lochs

"The famous ‘limestone’ lochs of Caithness contain wild brown trout which grow quickly due to the abundant fly life. St John’s Loch in the village and Loch Calder nearby have fish averaging around the 3⁄4 lb mark (contact CH Haygarth in the village for tackle and permits https://www.facebook.com/ haygarthguns/). You are also welcome to try Loch Bushta on our estate (we haven't yet so let us know if you catch anything!)

There is also the famous Loch Watten, wild brown’s to around the one pound size but with plenty up to 3lb. And there are lochs around Thrumster (https:// www.thrumster.co.uk/fishing)

In Sutherland the lochs of Durness, Lochs Lanlish, Croispol, Borralaidh and Caladail hold hard fighting, wild brown trout averaging 1 1⁄2 lb but can be caught up to 5lb."
